Test Technician – Belfast - £12.70 per hour


Our Client and one of NI’s leading manufacturers with a global footprint are hiring a test technician to join their growing Belfast team.


Hourly Rate: £12.70

Shift times: 8am – 4.30pm Monday to Thursday - 8am to 1.30pm Friday.


The Role:

  • Develop and establish processes, methods, and procedures for conducting tests on sub-assemblies, products, and systems.
  • Create and design hardware, such as test jigs, fixtures, and platforms, to facilitate efficient functional testing of PCBAs and sub-assemblies.
  • Plan, implement, and oversee the integration of test solutions into suppliers production processes.
  • Provide comprehensive training and mentoring for suppliers and test technicians, while creating essential support documentation.
  • Execute Customer Factory Witness tests to ensure quality and compliance.
  • Collaborate with product design engineers to ensure new product designs adhere to manufacturing standards.
  • Engage in test development for the introduction of new products.
  • Develop detailed test procedures for boards being subcontracted for assembly.
  • Travel to subcontractors facilities to conduct training and set up board level testing.
  • Perform thorough product troubleshooting, utilizing Engineering specifications, schematics, and product specifications, down to the component level.

The Person:

  • A minimum of an HND / HNC in Electronics or a minimum of 5 years of relevant working experience.
  • At least 1 year of continuous experience in testing electronic equipment within a manufacturing environment.
  • Preferably 1 year of continuous experience in identifying root causes of faults in electronic PCBAs down to the component level.
  • Proficient knowledge of electronic measurement equipment, particularly in power electronics (e.g., DMM) and the analog signal domain (e.g., Oscilloscope).
  • Strong PC skills, including proficiency in MS Office.
  • A technically oriented, analytical, and methodical approach to problem-solving.
