About The Role
We are looking for a Project Manager to join Dyson’s Research, Design and Development department’s Prototyping, Verification and Test Operations (PVT). The Prototyping, Verification and Test Operations department is a key area of development of all Dyson products and supports our future range plans. Within this role, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to be an influencing figure within PVT, with exposure to every category. They will be instrumental in ensuring the safety of equipment delivery projects and that these are delivered on time; not only meeting safety and compliance requirements, but also the technical and budgetary specification.
Key responsibilities include:
You will be working within a team of technical experts who specialise in the design, build and commissioning of special purpose equipment, you will be responsible for assuring that all projects deliver safe equipment that satisfy all of the safety requirements under H&S regulations.
Manage multiple projects utilising the appropriate systems, processes and resources to facilitate optimal delivery. This will include identifying, managing, and mitigating PVT’s risks and issues, and agreeing accountabilities and responsibilities with the wider project team.
Coordinate and communicate project scope, identify dependencies and understand the critical path to secure timely project delivery.
Identify and manage stakeholders, resolve conflicts, empower and inspire team members.
Track and communicate levels equipment risk across the RDD environment, to senior stakeholders.
Manage progress, analyse, collate & report project status and data from a cost, time, and spec. perspective.
Create resource plans based upon risk, to determine and manage project resource allocation.
Provide support (including some administration duties) to PVT as required during Test Reviews, ensuring the Test department are represented to a high standard.
Capture lessons learned and drive continuous improvement initiatives and development of PM capability.
Promote Project Management principles and best practices in all aspects of work and act as mentor to other team members where appropriate.
About you
A degree qualification (engineering discipline preferable) or equivalent experience.
In depth understanding of Project Management fundamentals.
To have knowledge of PUWER and or product regulation compliance (Desirable)
Understanding or experience of an engineering discipline such as, mechanical design, control system design or systems engineering.
Strong written and verbal communication skills
