Are you an experienced Test Manager with a Utilities background looking for a new challenge and to step up in your career? As Test Manager, you will be working in a client facing role across in the Utilities industry focused on defining and implementing projects for large or complex projects. You will direct and manage the full project-life cycle and set standards for assignments and applications. You will be responsible for the delivery of the defined work packages to the client, provide effective management to teams and give guidance to key business users.
Responsibilities:
- Provide Utilities industry knowledge to enable efficient project decision making
- Lead the planning and implementation of project
- Facilitate the definition of project scope, goals and deliverables
- Define project tasks and resource requirements
- Present reports defining project progress, problems and solutions
- Implement and manage project changes and interventions to achieve project outputs
- Develop strategies and directs teams with diverse scope
- Ensure that project deliverables are completed within agreed cost, timescale and resource budgets, are signed off
- Use project planning tools and participate in the identification of and planning for future resource needs.
- Responsible for overall test plan design and processes, applying, articulating and constructing business specific end to end scenarios, define standards for development of test scripts, deployment and reuse.
- Specify the test environment for whole life-cycle testing and ensure it reflects business requirements for execution
- Consult with key business stakeholders to ensure application design is optimised for testability
- Allocate and co-ordinate test schedules, work and resource plans; managing progress of all activities against the plan, managing own deliverables and that of others to meet delivery deadlines
- Provide quality assurance evaluation estimates on various projects, including the ability to execute vision, goals and direction of a team/teams.
- Diagnose problems and probes underlying issues to generate multiple potential solutions.
- Can proactively anticipate and prevent problems, facilitate buy-in and guides implementation of corrective and/or preventive actions for complex issues
- Creates quality assurance procedures and user instructions to ensure a reusable process and tools approach
- Define and implement quality process improvements and metrics focused on defect prevention.
- Advise on risk assessment and risk management strategies for projects or release level
- Input into proof of concept exercises and assist sales with pre-sales collateral.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field, or equivalent work experience
- ISTQB Advanced advantageous
- Additional course or certification in Quality Assurance
- Project Management qualification
- Excellent client-facing skills
- People management skills - introducing and building ways in which people can learn from each other, encouraging mentoring and the transfer of knowledge by designing and delivering learning interventions
- Team work and emotional intelligence

- Excellent communication and presentations skills
- Experience of introducing new concepts or strategies that significantly improve or revise the way business is done through to implementation.
- Utilities experience a must
- Proficient in Gas, Elec, and Water market rules
- Knowledge of customer billing systems such as Oracle CC&B, & SAP
- A background in consultancy would be an advantage
