Chief Technology Office
The Chief Technology Office (CTO) maintains a centre of excellence for technology and broader infrastructure-related innovation, translating market needs into core expansion programmes to enable market development. We ensure that products and services are constantly pushing the boundaries of satellite communications. The CTO team is responsible for delivering development programmes, including satellites and launchers, ground infrastructure (ground stations, networks, user terminals and access technology), regulatory, market access and product and service development.
Primary role purpose:
We are looking for a motivated, passionate, and professional individual to join our Test and Verification Services team as a Test Engineer.
Key Responsibilities:
The responsibilities encompass the following tasks:
- Develop and improve test procedures
- Performing test campaigns using manual and automated test procedures
- Perform technical analysis and generate reports from test results/data
- Effectively communicate results from testing activities to management
- Lead meetings involving sub-contractors and/or customers
- Raise / Review / QA defects, for escalation to the relevant parties, including sufficient information to reproduce the defect
- Identify required configurations to support test campaigns
Essential Knowledge and Skills:
- Previous related work experience / degree in a relevant technical subject (Engineering/Physics/Computing/Networking/etc.)
- Experience testing user interfaces (UI/UX)
- Experience using test management tools (Jira/ X-Ray)
- Knowledge of test automation software (Selenium, Cucumber, Gherkin)
- Previous experience in testing and/or fault analysis
- Understanding of OO Principles (Java, C++) and Scripting Languages (Python)
- Experience in using Linux (Redhat, Debian)
- Communicate effectively, with excellent spoken and written English
- Produce clear, well-structured documentation
- Able to work autonomously and have a good eye for detail
- Comfortable travelling alone and interfacing with our international customers
- Able to identify and systematically analyse problems/issues/bugs
- Good technical writing skills.
Desirable Knowledge and Skills:
- Quality Assurance and Project Management experience would be advantageous
- Experience in testing within satellite systems, or telecommunication networks
- Experience in API testing (Unit, Functional, Load Testing, etc)
- Knowledge of networking concepts (TCP-IP/DNS/DHCP/Network Routing/ICMP)
- Experience using relational databases.
