
Test & Automation Engineer Redruth, England
Job description
Working as part of our delivery team, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of all the output produced by our software developers. We’re working to increase the amount of automated testing we do, and you will be a key part of that effort.
To succeed in this role, you will need to be methodical, have an analytical mind, and get real pleasure from making things work they way they should.
Your main areas of responsibility are:
- Working from a specification and alongside a Project Lead, designing a test plan for work packages
- Creating and maintaining test scripts
- Creating and maintaining automated test scripts, using tools such as Cypress and Playwright
- Executing manual and automated tests
- Testing APIs using Postman and similar tools
- Collecting test evidence, compiling bug reports, and quality reports
- Triaging bugs reported by clients to ensure they are valid, we can reproduce them, and they comply with our quality policy
- Maintaining documentation and records relating to your work
- Supporting the delivery with content uploading, configuration, and data entry as required
- Actively participating in sprint ceremonies including standups and retrospectives
Skills and experience
You will also need:
- Experience of testing web applications across a number of browsers and devices
- Experience of testing APIs
- Experience of creating and executing automated tests
- A solid understanding of how complex digital systems are put together, beyond just simple websites
- Experience of working in a team where every member takes responsibility for their own work, supported by a project manager
