Ideal World are seeking A Technical Studio Director to join their busy live studios team.
ABOUT US
Ideal World are the award winning shopping TV channel devoted to lifestyle brands, homewares and luxury shopping. Our channel is live for up to 19 hours each day broadcasting onto Freeview, Freesat, Sky and Virgin TV platforms, as well as being broadcast on our website.
Our fun and interactive live shows feature limited time deals, client partnerships and a broad variety of product strands and categories. The channel has been on air for over 20 years from our studios based in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire.
THE ROLE
You will report to the Supervising Director, working as a member of the Technical Studio Directors team. The role requires you to be responsible for the planning and execution of your assigned live shopping television shows, ensure that all elements of studio production work together to provide compelling editorial driven programming. You will also be responsible for live gallery operations including directing, vision mixing, robotic camera operation and audio mixing live multi-camera output.
THE CANDIDATE
Applicants should have experience of directing and vision mixing live multi camera output. Experience with tv shopping would be desirable.
We are seeking someone who is creatively driven with strong verbal and written communication skills, a positive attitude and a person who thrives under pressure. The successful applicant should be able to demonstrate problem solving, possess quick decision-making skills and is able to lead a team and work well as part of a team.
POSITION DETAILS
The TV teams work a 12.5 hour day on a rotating 7 days per fortnight shift pattern. This means one week you work 5 shifts, and the following week you work 2 shifts, working out to an average of 40 hours a week and 7 days with a fortnight. The shift does include working weekends, bank holidays, early mornings, late nights covering our ITV contract.
Salary will be offered dependant on experience.
