Job description

Ackworth School, a co-educational boarding and day school, was founded in 1779 by the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers). It maintains its ethos and traditions, and is still governed by the Society, although only a small number of pupils are from the Quaker tradition. The school is academically non-selective and provides an excellent range of facilities and extra-curricular opportunities. The Head is a member of both HMC and the Society of Heads.

We are looking to appoint a Technician to work from 8.00 am to 4.00 pm for 34 weeks of the year including attendance at INSET training.

Working as part of the wider faculty you will support DT and Art in the preparation of lesson materials, maintenance and storage of equipment and contributing to the practical side of lessons.

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who has a passion for the creative subjects and who can bring their technical knowledge to the two departments to support pupil learning during practical sessions.

In addition to safeguarding, mandatory health and safety training applies to this role including (but not limited to) COSHH, manual handling and the use of the DT equipment.

Salary Scale - £17,300 - £18,135 based on 35 hours per week over 34 weeks. (FTE - £21,683 - £22,729)
