Technician Demonstrator- Photography, Art and Design
West Suffolk College, Bury St Edmunds
37 Hours per week, Fixed Term/Maternity Cover until April 2024.
Salary: £24,636 per annum - £26,310 per annum (Dependant on experience)
West Suffolk College is one of the country’s leading further education and apprenticeship providers. Our apprenticeship results have consistently remained above the national average. We offer many degrees, HNCs and HNDs at our focused and inclusive University Studies Centre. We have around 13,000 students including nearly 2,000 apprentices studying with us.
We are seeking a Technician Demonstrator to join the Art and Design department who will be required to help maintain the smooth running of the department. The successful candidate will be responsible for helping and assisting with a variety of tasks such as preparing materials for classes, delivering some photography sessions, staffing student self/directed study time and maintaining of the darkroom/studio, assisting students and helping with exhibitions. Several hours a week will also be assigned to assisting the Director of Art & Design with planning, administration and marketing.
The successful candidate should have excellent communication and organisational skills. Previous experience within Art and Design is essential. Digital skills such as Adobe Creative would be advantageous.
