These departments are spread over several sites across campus, with one off campus. Within the Institute, there are also LIV-SRF facilities in the areas of Bioimaging, MultiOmics and Bioresources.
Your primary role function will be core laboratory support including housekeeping, health and safety, maintenance of equipment, training of researchers and students on shared equipment, recharging of finances, and more. The successful candidate must be adaptable and have a flexible attitude to work as they will be asked to support other departments or sites within the Institute of Systems, Molecular & Integrative Biology such as the School of Life Sciences, when needed.
A large proportion of the job is core laboratory support, but occasionally, there will be opportunities to provide technical and experimental research support for members of academic staff, as well as high-quality experimental support on a cost-recovery model, but this will be limited. It is important to understand that this role is not a dedicated research technician on a specific research project.
