Summary of the role
This three-year full-time position is available from 1st August 2023 in Technical Services, within the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences. We are looking for a highly motivated technician interested in a unique opportunity to support research into plant disease and health using real-world weather and climatic conditions simulator named Global Meteorological Simulator (GMS). The custom-built GMS enables the control of temperature, light, humidity, CO2, rainfall, fog and wind allowing for the replication of past, current and predicted future weather scenarios modelled on real-world meteorological data. The successful candidate will have an exciting opportunity to support a wide range of projects on the effect of weather and climate on plants, insects and microbes.
