Role Overview
We are seeking a passionate technical writer to join the Quester Tangent Software Engineering team. The successful candidate needs to be someone who thrives in a fast-paced project driven environment. Working in concert with Software Product Owners, Scrum Masters and development teams, this role requires attention to detail, an ability extract key information from developers, and competency reviewing and aggregating data to produce accurate and consistent requirements, design and other documentation.
How you will spend your time:
- Planning, creating and formatting technical information including software application requirements, software release processes, test procedures, and training material
- Assist the team in enhancing requirements management tools and processes
- Supporting software release documentation packages
- Work with product owners, software developers, technical writers and scrum masters to help meet their content management and document generation needs
- Learning and applying industry standards to new and existing documents
What you will need to succeed:
- Major or Minor in an Applied Science or Engineering
- 2 years’ experience in a similar role
- Ability to effectively convey complex or technical information to technical and non-technical audiences
- Strong, organized self-starter, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to write clear instructions that break complexity into logical steps
Experiences that you help you thrive:
- Diagramming experience with Visio and other tools
- Experience in writing or editing technical documentation
- Experience or familiarity with requirements management systems
- Knowledge of IEEE standards, specifically IEEE-1558
- Experience using Jira
