About the Opportunity
Hyde Group is currently recruiting an Apprentice Technical Engineer based at one of our bespoke manufacturing facilities in Denton, Manchester. As a Technical Engineer Apprentice, you will be responsible for supporting the Engineering Department in various areas. These range from assisting with incoming customer quotes, for which you will have to determine the best course of action to ensure the job can be machined efficiently and correctly, whilst also selecting the correct tooling and machine for the job. You will also help with various CAD/CAM projects to meet the needs of the business. Alongside this, you will be required to think outside the box in order to solve engineering problems on a day-to-day basis. Furthermore, you will have the chance to meet and build relationships with tooling representatives who provide and keep you up to date with the latest cutting technologies.
Essential Skills
Good listening skills – A Technical Engineer is required to learn the knowledge of all aspects of manufacturing engineering
Good organisational skills – You will be required to keep files/directories in a simple, easy to access format
Enthusiastic – You must show willingness to learn, and keep a hand in the latest technologies
Being a conscientious individual is essential due to the nature of work undertaken
Desired Skills
A knowledge of computers would be greatly beneficial
Good timekeeping skills are desired
An interest in CAD/CAM/3D models (3D Printing) would show entry level knowledge in this area
