Our CMI (Cardiometabolic and Informatics) business has an exciting opportunity for an Intern / Year in Industry Placement Student to join our Research and Development department in our in-vitro diagnostic manufacturing site in Dundee (Scotland) that will be part of a team carrying out continuous improvements with a strategic focus on in-house data trend to proactively improve issues.
Day to day, you will:
- Conduct experiments and report findings in relation to biologicals insourcing
- Analyse data and report technical results
- Investigate problems where analysis of data requires evaluation of various factors
- Ensure equipment required for studies is maintained and available for use
- Prepare materials required for execution of experiments
- Develop relations within the department team and other internal departments
- Conduct all activities in accordance with the Abbott Dundee Health & Safety culture
You will currently be studying a bachelors level qualification, with preference given to those in the areas of Life Sciences, Biological Sciences or Chemical Sciences (or equivalent discipline) with general knowledge of GMP and GLP procedures and functional knowledge of laboratory equipment and techniques. The intern will be on-site 5 days/week in our Dundee site (Technology Park).
