WHAT TO EXPECT


You will have the exciting opportunity to develop and deliver New Jaguar’s service strategy for the next generation of JEA vehicles. Leading and working with our JEA engineering partner Magna, you will deliver vehicles with competitive cost of ownership, with robust, optimised and efficient service solutions ensuring fix right-first-time repairs. As the ‘voice of the customer’ with strong ‘customer first’ principles you will be this voice into the vehicle programme teams working in JLRs new agile framework. You will also coordinate and oversee the creation and sign-off of required dealer communications and materials to support vehicle launch into global markets. You will lead the completion of Service Attribute deliverables and the communication and coordination of the vehicle nameplate(s) across Global Customer Care.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Own the Service Attribute - Set, agree, and deliver cost of ownership targets in line with the programme PALS profile. Document programme status using the panel chart and communicate this to the programme as well as downstream areas to drive good performance in market at launch.
  • Lead the coordination & cascade of PDLs across Global Customer Care.
  • Support programme checkpoints with concurred service input as required by iPLM, LQOS, LMM/NMLR, and LGR.
  • Coordinate the cascade of requirements and test cases to the vehicle team, and the completion of design verification via RMDV/RTC to ensure vehicle compliance to the needs of the Service and Repair attribute.
  • Ensure that a work plan is agreed for service evaluation of repair process (SERP) studies and management of these to identify any issues. Take ownership of issues and reach an agreed resolution with the relevant component / system owners using Commodity Lead support as required.
  • Work as part of the agile engineering community, supporting key agile group and squad meetings to ensure Service & Repair requirements are being targeted in sprints and scrums. Petition for Service needs in the quarterly Big Room Planning events.
  • Work together with Commodity Lead engineers to minimise any special tooling needs and ensure compatibility with service strategy with regard to dealer facilities and complying with good industry practice.
  • Together with Commodity Leads and the Digital Capability team ensure delivery of required dealer materials, e.g. workshop manuals, handbook, quick start guide, diagnostics, tooling, and report status of these to launch reviews.
  • For early phase programmes, provide input at pre / pre to the single order card and FMA concept work to instil the foundations to meet insurance group ratings and cost-effective service and maintenance.
  • Embrace JLRs “modern luxury” mindset and identify ways to integrate this into the customer offer whilst maintaining the needs of cost effective service and repair.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED


As the Technical Service Project Lead, you’ll need the following knowledge, skills and experience:
  • Proven track record of delivery of customer focused approach to technical issue resolution
  • Practical understanding of engineering and hands-on experience of working with or repairing vehicles/mechanical equipment.
  • Ability to develop a programme timing plan and manage activities to agreed timing
  • Familiar with key software tools like Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, and ability to learn company programme management tools eg RMDV/JIRA.
  • Able to summarise and communicate complex technical issues to facilitate good decision making.
  • Technical degree, or working towards qualification (engineering preferred).
