We're looking for a Technical Business Consultant to work for our client.
Our client is a professional tax advisory firm based in Northern Ireland.
Since 2009, they have worked with some of the largest names in manufacturing, engineering and technology services. They have built up an excellent reputation for helping businesses across NI, ROI and GB to navigate their way through the government supported R&D Tax Credits, Capital Allowance and Land Remediation Relief initiatives.
As part of their continued growth, they seek to recruit a technically minded Business Consultant to complement the team.
You will have the opportunity to use your 5+ years’ experience of Business Acumen, Technical Nous and Engineering Excellence, Manufacturing Insight to help your clients identify their innovation, process improvement or true R&D in-line with HMRC guidelines.
The Role:
As a Technical Business Consultant, you will:
- Meet clients face-to-face to explore / investigate / question what projects they have been undertaking
- Determine whether or not these projects qualify for R&D Tax Credit in line with current Government legislation and guidelines on Innovation.
- Establish all costs associated with qualifying R&D projects.
- Write a compelling ‘Technical Report’ that illustrates the R&D work our Clients undertake for submission to HMRC for approval.
- Manage a portfolio of clients that meet the Company’s objectives
In the role of a Technical Business Consultant, you will report to the Technical Director and work in collaboration with your fellow Technical Consultants and Chartered Accountants as part of a client-focused team. This role, whilst technical in nature, requires a consultative approach, blended with some basic financial knowledge.
You will be responsible for delivering on your own project portfolio, which will align to your own interests, career and experiences.
What experience do I need?
A key requirement is the ability to translate complex technical information into a coherent and professional report and be able to communicate same to a broad range of stakeholders.
Applicants must be able to demonstrate a solid background in Engineering, Design, Innovation or Manufacturing or have relevant experience in the field of Business Consultancy.
You must have an eagerness to learn, an open mindset, a team spirit, an entrepreneurial attitude and a ‘raise-the-bar’ mentality.
The Package:
Our client is offering a starting basic salary of £35k to £40k (depending on experience)
PLUS an OTE opportunity of £50k to £60k through performance bonuses and commission.
