What your role entails:
· The Technical Buyer will be responsible for managing all aspects of purchasing and vendor relationships.
· The Technical Buyer should have experience in purchasing and price negotiation of capital equipment, control and automation components and related installation services.
· The Technical Buyer should be able to negotiate prices with vendors to meet company objectives, timeline and cost targets.
· The Technical Buyer should also be able to evaluate quotes against technical specifications, make recommendations, place Purchase Orders and maintain purchasing records including pricing and delivery information.
· The Technical Buyer should have experience with budgets, tracking budget costs and procurement deadlines.
· The Technical Buyer must have diligent attention to detail.
What your responsibilities would be:
- Prepare purchase requirements, request for quotations (RFQs) and process Purchase Orders to new and existing suppliers;
- Evaluate quotes against technical specifications, make recommendations and place Purchase Orders per company procedures;
- Evaluate and negotiate prices with appropriate vendors to meet company objectives, timeline and cost targets;
- Meticulously follow up on the delivery of purchased equipment, materials and services;
- Escalate issues as required for timely resolution; communicate any supply problems which may pose a risk to or impact business operations;
- Maintain purchasing records including price and delivery information;
- Inventory receiving, tracking, maintaining and shipping;
- Source and evaluate new vendors for quality, capability and support;
- Create and maintain supplier and vendor evaluation processes and tools;
- Work directly with the Engineering and Solutions teams to support their procurement needs and ensure suppliers and vendors understand and are able to meet company requirements;
- Collect and transmit all related engineering documents and specifications for RFQ submissions;
- Communicate and work to resolve any engineering related issues with suppliers and/or vendors and the CareGo team;
- Responsible for all documentation related to procurement matters including cross-border shipments;
- Establish and improve procurement procedures and guidelines to standardize/centralize the procurement function within the company;
- Analyze, monitor and control procurement spending to meet budget and profit targets;
- Perform other related duties as required.

What you should have:
- 5 years of successful procurement experience in Purchasing in a Manufacturing environment
- Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Supply Chain Logistics, Purchasing Management, Engineering or other relevant area
- Strong technical orientation with knowledge of electrical and mechanical assemblies
- A proven track record of negotiating effectively with outside suppliers/vendors/contractors
- Experience with customs brokers, cross border shipping requirements, trucking lines and express shipping carriers like Purolator, FedEx, etc.
- Creative and results-oriented, with the ability to plan and deliver against project deadlines
- Ability to read engineering drawings, specifications and understand BOMs
- Proficient computer skills in MS Office
- Strong leadership ability. Ethical and a professional working style.

- Excellent analytical, decision making skills
