Job description
Every childhood is worth fighting for. This is our belief. It drives us. And it's the reason our Children's Services team push themselves to transform the lives of children and families – in person, in service centres nationwide, and through the knowledge they share. Join us as our Team Manager and make a contribution that means everything.
We work directly with children and families either in their homes or at our local Hubs across the UK and Channel Islands. Each service we provide is evaluated at different stages and from different perspectives so we can learn what works best and improve our provision. We are committed to sharing our evaluations to increase the evidence base of what works in children's services and help keep many more children safe.
Our Local Services are an essential part of how our three impact goals will be delivered:
Everyone plays their part to prevent child abuse
Every child is safe online
Children feel safe, listened to and are supported
As part of this, we are excited to establish an NSPCC presence in every nation and English region. However, our work will not be limited to these towns and cities. This new network instead enables us to embed ourselves in every community. An integral part of the NSPCC current strategy is the delivery of innovative, pioneering, evidence based practice across the safeguarding agenda.
This is a job share post so together with your Team Manager colleague you will lead the local team, manage, and shape new innovative services in line with the NSPCC current strategy. You will be an integral part of the management team and will be responsible for the line management of staff, delivering front line services within neighbouring local authority areas. You will need and demonstrate motivation to improve the quality of the work provided by the team, have some experience of delivering supervision that supports good practice and promotes positive values and behaviours and expertise in the field of safeguarding. In addition, we always seek to share our learning to spread the reach and impact of our work.
Therefore, in this role as Team Manager you will need to have a positive and flexible approach to influencing change and innovation. If you are looking for a new challenge, passionate about making a real difference to the lives of children and young people then we would love to hear from you! The NSPCC can offer the right candidate with the potential to grow and develop, fantastic learning opportunities, an improved work / life balance and the experience of working in a well-established charity that sets high standards and expectation on improving the lives of children.
There is flexiblity regarding the working days .
