We are UK Immigration Solicitors firm that primarily covers private UK Immigration, Nationality, Asylum and Human Rights. We also cover Family/Matrimonial, Litigation and Wills & Probate. Owing to expansion and successful tender of Immigration Legal Aid tender, we have a requirement for an Immigration Solicitor or Immigration Caseworker with Level 3 Supervisor status and demonstratable experience within a reputable Immigration Legal aid firm.

Job Description:
You will be an experienced Immigration Solicitor/caseworker (with IAAS Level 3 Accreditation) and be well versed in Legal aid cases covering Asylum and Human Rights, bail, deportation and detention. You must have demonstratable experience of public funding, legal aid billing and casework. You will head the Immigration (Legal Aid) department at our Birmingham office.
You will be responsible for growing the department and dealing primarily with all aspects of UK Asylum, detention and Appeals work. As head of department, you will supervise junior caseworkers and paralegals. You must have an ability to manage a varied and demanding caseload of publicly funded immigration matters. Experience in own advocacy would be an advantage.
Must possess excellent IT Skills and be familiar with Microsoft Office applications and document management skills.
Remuneration:
On offer is a basic salary of £40,000 (dependant on experience).
Hours of work: Monday to Friday 9:00am to 5:00pm.
20 days annual leave in addition to the usual bank holidays.
Excellent progression opportunities
Part time working considered - base salary paid pro-rata for hours worked.
Place of work: Handsworth, Birmingham with occasional travel to detention centres and Immigration Tribunals, if required. Full travel, accommodation and sustenance expenses will be covered for outside of usual place of work.
