Bank Pharmacy Technician (Band 5)
We have an exciting opportunity for a Bank Pharmacy Technician to join our Pharmacy team based at The London Clinic in Central London, W1G 6BW, with a competitive hourly pay rate on offer.
The Pharmacy department at The London Clinic comprises of number of areas which work together to provide effective patient services and best possible outcomes for our patients.
The London Clinic’s Pharmacy Department are a close-knit team with around 45 staff members. The Pharmacy department comprises of 9 core services: On Call, Dispensary, Distribution, Procurement, Clinical Ward Pharmacy, Provision of Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN), Aseptic/Technical, Clinical Governance and Education and Training.
We have extensive oncology services, including a purpose-built chemotherapy aseptic compounding suite. As well as an automated medication dispensing system which supports decentralised medicine management in numerous wards.
Job Profile
As a Bank Pharmacy Technician, you will participate in a safe, efficient and accurate, technician led pharmacy operational service across all sites at The London Clinic. This is a rotational post through Dispensary, Distribution/Procurement and Ward services.
The post holder will ensure that the services are delivered in a safe, effective, economic and timely manner and will be responsible for ensuring that all documentation and procedures are carried out in accordance with current legislation and guidelines.
Key Duties
- Participate in the provision of a safe, efficient and accurate dispensing service to all pharmacy users, including the dispensing of controlled drugs.
- To support and direct work flow of all dispensary staff, ensuring SOPs are followed and standards are maintained.
- To provide a top up service to allocated wards and departments
- To participate in the delivery of education and training to pharmacy staff and allied health professionals to meet the Clinic’s objectives.
- To support in the induction of new pharmacy staff.
Skills & Experience
- NVQ Pharmacy Services Level 3 with accredited underpinning knowledge (BTEC Level 3 Diploma in the Principles and the Practice of Pharmacy Technicians) or Equivalent.
- Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council as a Pharmacy Technician.
- Evidence of CPD (continuing professional development)
- Experience of working in an acute hospital setting.
