As an Environmental Services Team Leader, you will work alongside our Environmental Services Officers to oversee the day-to-day operational service delivery. Operating in a fast-paced environment, you will lead a small team, handling inquiries from various sources. In addition, we offer a competitive benefits package, including 26 days of annual leave plus bank holidays, which increases to 31 days after five years of service.

Outstanding organisational skills are essential for this role. Effective communication is crucial, as you will engage with staff, service users, members of the public, and external organisations via email, telephone, and in-person interactions. You should be adept at meeting statutory or regulatory deadlines and proactively tackling challenging situations. Monitoring progress against plans throughout the year to achieve predetermined business objectives is also a key responsibility.
The ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities is highly valued. Previous experience working with a case management system would be advantageous. Additionally, a thorough understanding of Sunderland City Councils values and behaviours is expected.
