Experienced Bar Staff (Full-Time and Part-Time positions available)
We are on the lookout for experienced bar staff of all levels to join our family at Cyprus Avenue. We offer a mix of breakfast, lunch and dinner shifts with flexible working hours where possible for the right candidates.
With the nature of our business and opening hours, our demand for bartenders is highest at the weekends. With that in mind, we do offer a mix of shifts (early morning and mid-week) which requires the bartender to overlap with floor duties such as meeting and greeting guests, answering the phone, working our reservation system, running food where necessary etc. If you are solely bar focused and have no intentions of learning or overlapping on floor duties at any point, this is not the job position for you.
Responsibilities:
· Attend training sessions, read and learn our bar manual and memorise our cocktail recipes
· Assist our bar manager in creating imaginative drinks list and weekly drink specials
· Learn the basics of our food menus and be confident in taking guest food orders if and when necessary
· Responsible for setting up and breaking down the bar appropriately on shift
· To assist your co-workers in getting prepped properly for the next service before finishing you shift
· Communicating with floor staff and management if any issues arise during service
· Maintain our high standards of drink and cocktail serves ensuring consistency throughout your shift
· Confidently run a bar shift alone during a steady evening service keeping up with high standards of drinks you make
· Work efficiently and effectivity with basic bar knowledge in the process of building drink orders
· Keep a clean and tidy work space at all times and be aware that our bar is the vocal point/hub of the restaurant
· Be confident in the products you are selling and have the knowledge to recommend drinks to guests at each course throughout service
· Be hands on the floor by assisting management and floor staff during quieter periods on the bar
· Record wastage appropriately and follow our protocols
· Restock and clean down the bar during and at the end of every shift
· Use initiative by ensuring you have all cocktail syrups/juices fully stocked and prepped ahead of service
· Check in our guests during service, upsell at any given opportunity
· Be able to communicate with management at the first sign of an unhappy or dissatisfied guest
· Ensure guests are never left waiting for anything, confidently answer the phone and deal with guest enquires
· Help to maintain our high levels of service and augment our restaurant’s reputation
Requirements:
· Previous bar experience in a high-pressured environment is a must. Cocktail experience is essential
· Spirit and liquor knowledge is an advantage
· Work efficiently as part of the team helping to support your co-workers where necessary
· Punctuality and reliability is a must! Lateness and regular absences will not be tolerated
· Carry a professional presence at all times on the restaurant floor in the presence of guests during operating hours
· Strong people and communication skills
· Positive attitude with a willingness to learn
· Strong work ethic
