The role

The School of Anatomy at the University of Bristol is looking to recruit Teaching Associates in Comparative Anatomy in two part time (0.6 FTE) roles. The team is unique in the UK in specialising in both human and comparative anatomy within a single School, and delivers anatomical teaching to students on both clinical and science-based programmes from across the University.

What will you be doing?

As the postholder you will contribute to the delivery of teaching and assessments in topographical anatomy in the School of Anatomy. You will focus on demonstrating practical topographical anatomy in the veterinary dissection room, contributing to any of the Veterinary, Applied Anatomy and Functional and Clinical Anatomy programmes. There are also opportunities for interprofessional teaching on the medicine or dentistry programmes. The post holder may also have a role in supporting the creation of teaching resources. A clinical background is not essential, we also encourage applicants with relevant qualifications in basic sciences and allied health professionals to apply.

You should apply if

You have:

  • Sound knowledge of anatomy in one or more non-human mammalian species
  • You have some experience in comparative anatomy or are motivated to expand your knowledge within this area
  • You have a keen interest in anatomy teaching methods

Work pattern: Part time/ 0.6FTE

Grade: I / Pathway 3

Salary: £35,333 - £39,745 per annum (pro rata)

School/Unit: School of Anatomy

Shift pattern: Part Time / to include Thursday & Friday (plus Monday or Tuesday by arrangement)
