Teaching/Learning Assistant
Scale 2/3, points 3-6 (depending on qualifications and experience)
Salary: Start Date: September 2023
Hours: 35 hrs per week; 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM or 8:45 AM to 4:45 PM - Monday to Friday
Closing date: Friday 16 June by 12:30 PM
This is a fantastic opportunity for an aspiring individual who wants to make a positive contribution and increase children’s life chances. The successful candidate will be self-driven and a strong team player. They will have the resilience to work under pressure and prioritise their tasks. They will have a buy-in the school’s mission and vision. Some experience of working with children in a school or similar setting is desirable. A* to B grades in GCSE English and mathematics are essential.
The successful candidate will be deployed in a Year group in which they can share their strengths to support the learning of individuals and small groups of pupils as a
TA/LSA. They will also have the opportunity to contribute to education of other pupils in KS1 or KS2 for their professional development and growth.

Job description & person specifications for Teaching Assistant
Qualifications, skills and experience
Candidates must have a GCSE A*, A or B in English and mathematics. A Levels and/or a degree is preferable but not essential. Being able to work under pressure with positivity and enthusiasm is essential. Candidates must be committed to making a positive difference to children’s lives, and be driven by self-motivation. Some experience of supporting children in a similar setting is desirable but not essential.
Must have good communication and interpersonal skills. Being able to work as part of a team while being driven by own initiative is essential.
Deployment
The successful candidate will be deployed so that they can share their strength. Full-training will be provided by the school and the successful candidate will have regular, weekly in-house training on different aspects of teaching and learning.
The post-holder will be required to work Monday to Friday for 35 hrs per week which will be based on the needs of the school. The post-holder will work during term-time (plus an additional paid week if required by the school).
