Teaching Assistant (Progressing Directly Into Teacher Training)
Required for September 2023 or as soon as possible
Grade 4, SCP 12-17, £24,496 - £26,845 (Pay award pending)
(Actual salary £18,596 - £21,026 dependent on continuous service and experience)
32.5 hours per week, Term Time Only plus 5 days
We are looking to appoint someone who aspires to become a qualified teacher to support our young people in their learning, before commencing teacher training within our SCITT - Manchester Nexus. For one year, you would be supporting teaching and learning in the classroom, as well as running small group and 1:1 interventions, before starting teacher training in September, 2024. This role will support the successful candidate gain invaluable school experience which will prepare them in advance of beginning their teacher training with Manchester Nexus. Please note, the advertised salary will end upon progression to the teacher training programme.

· who aspires to become a qualified teacher,
· is a confident communicator with adults and children,
· is able to inspire and motivate young people to be the best they can be.
Whilst it would be an advantage, applicants do not necessarily need to have worked in education but must have their own high academic standards and expectations and be enthusiastic and passionate about engaging with young people of all needs and abilities. The role would suit someone who is looking to gain some school experience before commencing teacher training. It is an ideal opportunity for someone who sees teaching as a potential career, but would like to understand what working in a school is really like, before committing to professional training.
