Job description
Head Start Education is a highly-successful, high-achieving, alternative provision, delivering transformative education to young people of all ages from Primary through to Year 11.
From September 2023, we expect to be providing education to at least 120 students across four separate sites across Northumberland.
This is a particularly exciting time to be joining our team - as we increase the number of our provisions in Northumberland, by opening our new East Hartford site and expand our already very high-functioning team of teachers and support staff.
Applications are invited from talented, hard-working and committed individuals for the post of PSHE/Life Skills HLTA at our East Hartford site. The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate a strong commitment to the Head Start aims, values and ethos and a proven track record of delivering excellent outcomes for students, including those with complex behavioural needs.
We are looking for a dynamic, committed specialist with a good understanding of all aspects of the KS3 & 4 PSHE curriculum. The ideal candidate will be creative with their delivery and have a talent for engaging students’ interest and involvement in the PSHE issues. We are in partnership with several organisations that support, and provide, resources to help deliver a broad curriculum. In addition to this, we want a candidate who can impart knowledge of key life skills onto students such as cooking, managing money and CV writing to name but a few. So that when students do leave us, they leave with a basic and broad skill-set of key skills that will be valuable to them as they move into adulthood.
Our students both really enjoy and benefit from their study of PSHE/Life Skills, which also contributes significantly to their growing self-esteem and understanding of life and its challenges. They need a teacher who can both facilitate their progress and support them with their complex behaviour and learning needs.
If that sounds like you then we would love for you to apply.
