Position: Maths/Science Teacher

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Salary: Up to £37,000 per annum

Location: Armley Grange School, Leeds

Contract: Permanent, Term Time Only

Armley Grange seeks an enthusiastic teacher who can inspire children and young people with complex learning through Maths and Science. Our children and young people need engaging, creative, practical learning and so delivering staff need the ability to thrive in a flexible curriculum structure and fully utilise our fantastic facilities to offer personalised programmes.

This position covers the planning and delivery of lessons to all of the children and young people, so the successful candidate must commit to getting to know the needs and abilities of all prior to planning educational activities.

There is potential to be the Math/Science Subject Lead in the future.

An enthusiastic teacher whom can work in a creative way to positively affect the lives of young people and enrich our curriculum through meeting the needs of our Maths and Science Curriculum.

  • QTS or other equivalent teaching qualification
  • A deeply held conviction that every child can achieve and reach their potential;

  • Ability to be adaptable in a fast-paced extremely environment;
  • Commitment to the safeguarding and welfare of all children;
  • Excellent classroom practitioner;

  • Resilience;
  • Ability to work on own initiative;
  • Willing to undertake training
  • Experience with SEMH and PRU environments

About us

Armley Grange is a new specialist school for young people with complex communication needs, autism and associated learning and emotional needs. A specialist school equipped with the latest technology, sensory provision and specialist teaching spaces with the needs of the pupils in mind.

Armley Grange is a day school that caters for students from 5 years to 19 years old. A specialist curriculum will be provided blending specialist teaching around communication, sensory and behaviour approaches with aiming for each child to achieve their goals and aspirations and to reach their potential, equipping them to make their way in the world.
