Role: Cleaner – Stechford Police Station
Type: Police Staff - Grade 1
Salary: £21,031 - £21,432 (pro-rata for part-time roles)

The Role
Facilities Management currently have cleaning/porter vacancy within our Corporate Asset Management Department.
The successful applicant will be required to work at Stechford Police Station. There may also be some travelling between sites and partner buildings within this areas therefore the use of your own vehicle would be advantageous although not essential.
There are 2 vacancies available:
- Working hours range between 7.00am – 11.00pm Mon-Fri 20 hours per week

Working hours range between 7.00am – 12.00pm Mon-Fri 25 hours per week
The department consists of 3 key business areas: Estates, Fleet and Facilities Management, that provide a wide range of enabling support services including acquisitions and disposals, maintenance and servicing of police buildings and vehicles.
The successful applicant/s will be responsible for carrying out general cleaning duties within areas of an operational police station or partner building, that consist of offices, washrooms and welfare areas, custody suites and forensic areas.
Full training will be given which complies with the British Institute of Cleaning Science (BICSc) standards.
Duties include:
- Damp dusting furniture, fixtures and furnishings, suction cleaning and wet mopping floors and stairwells, washing walls and other vertical surfaces and tiled areas up to a height of 3.53m (11ft) using high level cleaning equipment.
- Cleaning kitchens and welfare areas including cleaning and defrosting refrigerators, cleaning inside units and cupboards.
- Maintaining cleaning equipment and to report any faulty equipment or materials.
- Report any maintenance defects that are noted in the building.
- Undertake learning and carry out any other duties commensurate with the purpose and grading of the post.
Person Specification
Applicants are subject to our security vetting process.
You will:
- Have experience of working within a similar role, and ideally across multiple sites.
- Have excellent communication skills and be able to understand both written and verbal instruction.
- Be able to undertake work that involves manual handling.
- Undertake learning and development in order to demonstrate competency in performing all duties within role, such as safe use of cleaning equipment and machinery, manual handling and lifting equipment.
- Be able to commute to alternative areas of work within the police estate as required.
- Must demonstrate the ability to work on own initiative and possess good interpersonal skills
Vetting:
Successful applicants will be required to pass recruitment vetting and security clearance scrutiny prior to starting their role. This includes a full background & financial disclosure.
Hours:
07:00 – 11:00 - 20hrs per week OR 07:00 - 12:00 - 25hrs per week.
