Sabscars, a reputable taxi service company based in Gloucester, Gloucestershire, UK, is seeking a dedicated and customer-focused Telephone Receptionist Taxi Controller to join our office-based team. As a Telephone Receptionist Taxi Controller, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional customer service by managing incoming calls, dispatching taxis, and ensuring efficient communication between drivers and passengers. This position requires you to be located or residing in Gloucester, Gloucestershire, UK, as it is an office-based role.
Responsibilities:
Answering Calls: Handle a high volume of incoming calls from customers, providing prompt and friendly service while accurately gathering relevant information.
Customer Assistance: Assist customers with inquiries, such as booking taxis, providing fare estimates, and answering general questions about our services.
Dispatching Taxis: Efficiently dispatch taxis to designated locations based on customer requests, taking into account driver availability, proximity, and estimated travel times.
Communication: Maintain clear and concise communication with drivers and passengers to ensure timely and accurate pick-ups and drop-offs, resolving any potential issues or discrepancies.
Scheduling: Organize and coordinate taxi schedules, ensuring optimal coverage and efficient use of available resources.
Monitoring and Tracking: Monitor the progress of ongoing taxi journeys, ensuring adherence to schedules, and providing real-time updates to customers as necessary.
Documentation: Accurately record and maintain customer and trip information in the company's database, ensuring all relevant details are documented for future reference and billing purposes.
Problem Resolution: Handle customer complaints, conflicts, or service disruptions professionally, finding suitable solutions and escalating issues when necessary.
Team Collaboration: Collaborate closely with other team members, including drivers and administrative staff, to ensure smooth operations and exceptional customer service.
Administrative Tasks: Assist with general administrative tasks, including data entry, filing, and generating reports as required.
Qualifications:
Location Requirement: Must be located or residing in Gloucester, Gloucestershire, UK, as this is an office-based role.
Previous Experience: Proven experience in a customer service or call center role is preferred. Experience in a similar taxi dispatching or controlling position is a plus.
Excellent Communication: Strong verbal communication skills and an ability to remain calm and composed while handling customer inquiries or complaints.
Multitasking Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, such as answering calls, dispatching taxis, and maintaining accurate records.
Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills to ensure efficient scheduling and coordination of taxi services.
Problem-Solving Abilities: Aptitude for resolving customer issues and handling unexpected situations in a calm and effective manner.
Familiarity with Local Geography: Good knowledge of Gloucester and the surrounding areas to ensure accurate dispatching and provide location-based information to customers.
Computer Literacy: Proficiency in using computer systems, including databases and software applications, to record and retrieve relevant information.
Customer-Focused: A customer-centric approach, with a genuine passion for delivering exceptional service and building positive customer relationships.
Flexibility: Willingness to work in shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to ensure 24/7 coverage.

The working hours for this role are as follows so please only apply if you can commit to these hours;
Monday to Thursday: 9AM to 2PM & 4PM to 6PM
Fridays: 9AM to 2PM, 4PM to 6PM on Fridays
Sundays: 8AM to 5PM on Sundays.
