Statkraft is looking to hire an Interim International Tax Manager on a fixed term contract ending on 30 June 2024. The position will be located at the UK head office at 22 Bishopsgate, London and reports to the VP Group Tax in London. SVP Head of Group Tax is based in Oslo, Norway.
Statkraft has a fully centralized approach to tax with Group Tax operating as a centre of expertise, pertaining to the CFO area. We are a team of 15 located across Europe, Asia and South America. The unit is responsible for providing tax advisory services to the global organization as well as policy setting on indirect and direct tax. Group Tax has close co-operation with all staff units, including Investment Review Unit, M&A, Legal, Treasury, Financial Reporting and the different business areas both nationally and internationally.
Your Role
- Support the business areas with provision of tax advice to achieve their commercial goals
- Ensure tax compliance and consistency with Statkraft Group policies for your portfolio
- Evaluate tax legislation changes globally and assess the associated impact on business areas
- Transaction support – provide tax advice relating to acquisitions, disposals and internal reorganisations
- Input into investment decision process and financial modelling
- Assist Group Treasury with financing of the Group
- Provide tax technical support in relation to UK tax compliance and preparation of tax disclosures for UK statutory accounts
- Qualified Chartered Accountant, Tax Lawyer or equivalent tax qualification
- Corporate tax experience, from in-house or private sector
- Strong technical expertise in international taxation, M&A and tax issues affecting large multinationals
- Analytical, efficient, independent, positive, pro-active and a good team player with the ability to work independently, but also balance the need to anchor with direct leader and overall Group Tax team
- Good communication, networking and presentation skills in a multi-cultural environment, across various geographies
- Good commercial orientation/business acumen
- High personal integrity and ethical standards
