Job description
Job details
Fancy being a systems engineer for one of Cambridge’s most advanced material science businesses?
If you’re reading this advert you are either curious about what’s on the market right now or wanting to leave your current job – but most Systems Engineers I speak to ask me about the below, so I’ll save you some time and be honest with what to expect:
- This is a CRUCIAL hire for the business. You’ll join a growing team of engineers to design novel process systems for carbon capture, hydrogen purification and also hydrogen storage.
- Work with the new CTO and Lead Process Engineer to integrate novel porous materials into a gas storage solution. The business is building a brand new manufacturing plant!
Based on the Cambridge Science Park with hybrid and flexible working, you will benefit from a competitive salary, 4x salary life assurance, personal medical insurance, 25 days holiday a year (plus bank hols) and 4 weeks paid sick leave.
The company are looking for someone with the following skills:
- Minimum 5 years of process design and engineering experience – minimum BEng (Hons) Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering or equivalent qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in process modelling and optimisation, or computational fluid dynamics (CFD)
- Demonstrated experience in development of PFD, P&ID and process control strategy
- Familiar with any of the following software packages: Aspen, gPROMS, COMSOL, or similar modelling tools
- Solid foundation in transport phenomena and fluid flow simulation
- Customer focussed, team player, influencer, excellent communicator, decision-maker!
In comparison to other Systems Engineering opportunities I am working at the moment, this is by far the most lucrative – not many businesses are so well-funded and can offer the opportunity to work on a pilot facility build up from scratch!
