Associate Systems Engineer Job Objective
The Associate Systems Engineer is an entry-level systems engineer position for those aspiring to become a Systems Engineer. The Associate Systems Engineer will work with and be mentored by one or more Systems Engineers on a variety of projects employing vision-based, high-speed Delta robots. The Associate Systems Engineer will be given various tasks along a project’s lifecycle. After assisting Systems Engineers, an Associate Systems Engineer will be given smaller projects to complete under the guidance of a mentor. This is a Full Time, Exempt position reporting to the Systems Engineering Manager.
Associate Systems Engineer Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Supports systems engineering in the technical project execution;
- Supports the scope of work and the design workbook creation;
- Supports the conceptual design of automation, motion control, and robotic solutions;
- Participates in internal design reviews with all project disciplines;
- Reviews drawing and documentation packages;
- Assists with initial conceptual design and final testing of robotic End of Arm Tooling;
- Supports the Systems Engineer and the Project Manager to achieve an overall great customer experience;
- Learns from the different technical disciplines;
- Assists in the setup of the robotic program and vision systems;
- Supports the equipment startup at JLS and customer site;
- Participates in technical meetings between JLS and customer or vendor;
- Supports the creation of drawings, documentation packages, and user manuals;
- Works as a liaison to the purchasing department in case of missing or expediting parts;
- Other duties as assigned.
Associate Systems Engineer Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- 4-year college degree majoring in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent experience;
- 1+ year of technical/professional Training in similar roles preferred;
- Ability to prioritize when tasked with multiple projects at the same time;
- Basic knowledge of SolidWorks or similar 3D software preferred;
- Computer skills are required at an advanced level;
- Basic knowledge of structured text programming preferred;
- Must be able to travel up to 25%;
- Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship.
