GXO are currently looking for a Systems & Control Room Technician to join our flagship M&S site in Bradford. Our control room is at the heart of this operation, it keeps our warehouse moving and pumps all the complex signals around to ensure that we achieve a healthy and efficient way of working. Here you will play a key role in ensuring that the correct systemic measures are taken on a day-to-day basis to allow for full productivity and service levels to be met.
This is a full time, permanent position where you’ll work 12-hour shifts, two weeks on days (6am to 6pm), then two weeks on nights (6pm to 6am). The first week of each rotation you’ll work Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, the second week you’ll only work Wednesday and Thursday, a total of 7 days from 14. We promise its less complex than it looks and gives you a great work life balance, pretty unique in a warehouse environment!
Pay, benefits and more:
We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £26,000 (rising to £28,000 after successful completion of probation period) plus a 5%-night shift allowance (paid between 10pm & 6am) per annum. In addition, we offer 23 days annual leave (inclusive of bank holidays), as well as the option to buy additional days. What you’ll do on a typical day:
Investigate ad-hoc issues, support operations with technical knowledge, support identifying issues and solutions- Lead a team of technicians to deliver operational support and resolution
- Test functionality to ensure performance is as required and support the incident management desk with more detailed investigations
- Support the control room team with training and detailed technical knowledge
- Maintain positive relationships with all internal and external teams
What you need to succeed at GXO:
Be an experienced Team Leader with a technical or IT background- Warehousing experience is not essential but exposure to managing automation flow in similar environments such as production/manufacturing would be advantageous
- You will thrive in a fast-paced environment and be able to problem solve and think on your feet.
