Junior Systems Administrator

Based in US, work remote

Summary:

Implement and maintain server and network infrastructures and projects.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Install and configure internal and customer facing servers, network devices and firewalls.
• Manage, troubleshoot & maintain server, network and firewall systems
• Administer and support core Microsoft, Cisco, Hyper-V and VMware technologies
• Troubleshoot & manage MySQL databases
• Implement monitoring, configuration management and reporting functions that will make a hands-off environment
• Document best practices and support procedures
• Provide after-hours support for Infrastructure related emergencies as well occasional weekend maintenance
• Maintain inventory and asset configuration documentation
• Assist with hardware, firewall and software vendor evaluation and recommendation
• Carry out special tasks at Management's direction
• Interact with customers and staff at the technical level, as required.
• AD / LDAP / SSO implementation and troubleshooting
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science (or related area) preferred.
• Windows server administration
• Familiarity with Windows scripting
• Knowledge of Windows Server (2016/2019/2022)
• Working experience of Google Cloud (preferred) or AWS or Azure or Rackspace
• Managing server virtualization technologies like MS Hyper V
• A solid understanding of LAN/WAN networking and Firewall/Load balancing
• Cisco ASA firewall configuration
• Microsoft IIS administration and configuration
• AD/LDAP user and group administration
• Monitoring tool experience like Nagios or Zabbix
• Knowledge of server backup/restore process
• Hand-on experience with servers on data center
• Ability to troubleshoot network issues including VPN and access issues
• LAN Routing and Switching design, configuration and troubleshooting
• Python, Docker, Kubernetes a plus
• Flexible and able to adapt to a rapidly changing environment
• Must be organized and have the ability to manage projects of varying length
• Positive, self-motivated individual who can complete tasks independently
• DB management (MySQL/DB2/Bigdata) a plus
• Experience in Application Server like Jboss/Tomcat/WebSphere a plus
• Experience in ITSM Frameworks like COBIT/ITIL is a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $61,640.14 - $74,233.30 per year
