Junior Systems Administrator
Based in US, work remote
Summary:
Implement and maintain server and network infrastructures and projects.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Install and configure internal and customer facing servers, network devices and firewalls.
- Manage, troubleshoot & maintain server, network and firewall systems
- Administer and support core Microsoft, Cisco, Hyper-V and VMware technologies
- Troubleshoot & manage MySQL databases
- Implement monitoring, configuration management and reporting functions that will make a hands-off environment
- Document best practices and support procedures
- Provide after-hours support for Infrastructure related emergencies as well occasional weekend maintenance
- Maintain inventory and asset configuration documentation
- Assist with hardware, firewall and software vendor evaluation and recommendation
- Carry out special tasks at Management's direction
- Interact with customers and staff at the technical level, as required.
- AD / LDAP / SSO implementation and troubleshooting
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science (or related area) preferred.
- Windows server administration
- Familiarity with Windows scripting
- Knowledge of Windows Server (2016/2019/2022)
- Working experience of Google Cloud (preferred) or AWS or Azure or Rackspace
- Managing server virtualization technologies like MS Hyper V
- A solid understanding of LAN/WAN networking and Firewall/Load balancing
- Cisco ASA firewall configuration
- Microsoft IIS administration and configuration
- AD/LDAP user and group administration
- Monitoring tool experience like Nagios or Zabbix
- Knowledge of server backup/restore process
- Hand-on experience with servers on data center
- Ability to troubleshoot network issues including VPN and access issues
- LAN Routing and Switching design, configuration and troubleshooting
- Python, Docker, Kubernetes a plus
- Flexible and able to adapt to a rapidly changing environment
- Must be organized and have the ability to manage projects of varying length
- Positive, self-motivated individual who can complete tasks independently
- DB management (MySQL/DB2/Bigdata) a plus
- Experience in Application Server like Jboss/Tomcat/WebSphere a plus
- Experience in ITSM Frameworks like COBIT/ITIL is a plus
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $61,640.14 - $74,233.30 per year
