System Administrator
Glennon Brothers manufacture high-quality timber products and are now the premier name in the Irish and UK timber processing industry. We are currently looking to recruit a Systems Administrator based in Troon.
Job Description
Reporting to the IT Manager, the Systems Administrator will be part of a team which has direct responsibility for the IT infrastructure in Glennon Brothers. You will configure, install, and support a wide array of technologies and systems.
Responsibilities
· Assisting with Desktop PCs, Laptops and Printers
· Mobile Phones
· VOIP Phones and Systems
· Network infrastructure including LAN / WAN / Wi-fi etc.
· Server Hardware and Operating Systems
· Cloud Technologies i.e. O365, Teams, SharePoint
· Bespoke LOB Software systems supporting production and manufacturing equipment
· ERP systems covering Stock Control, Sales Ordering, Dispatch, Finance and reporting
You will work with technologies including:
· Microsoft Windows Server and Desktop Operating Systems
· Microsoft Office Suit, including O365, Teams, SharePoint
· LAN and WAN concepts such as DHCP, DNS, VLANs, Active Directory, Cloud Infrastructure
· VOIP Telephony
· Network Switches, Routers, Wi-Fi Access Points, network cabling
· ERP / Back office business systems (Epicor LumberTrack, Microsoft Navision, Microsoft Great Plains)
Skills Profile
While any background in either IT education or work experience will be highly favourable, equally important will be your ability and desire to learn.
The successful applicant will be trained in many aspects of the role, and within a reasonable timeframe be expected to manage their own workload to a large degree.
You will be able to demonstrate at interview a keen knowledge for IT in general and should be able to explain this in detail in regards to the Role and Technologies outlined above.
Since you will be dealing with staff at any level throughout the business on a daily basis and coordinating as required with 3rd party support vendors and suppliers, your people skills will be exemplary.
While many of the day-to-day tasks will be office based, you will be expected to support systems on the shop floor of a sawmilling and timber frame construction environment.
The job is based in Troon but travel to other central Scotland sites in the group will be required regularly so you will hold a full UK driving licence. Use of a company pool car is provided for this. Travel to other group sites in Ireland may be required on occasion.

Salary: £26,000.00-£29,000.00 per year
