Genesis Innovation Group (GIG)is looking for a talented and technically strong IT Systems Administrator who is a hardworking and humble achiever, eager to grow professionally. In this unique opportunity, as the sole IT Systems Administrator, you will be the key resource for the team on a day-to-day basis. GIG is an early-stage investor and developer of innovative medical devices. We bring together a wealth of management experience, operational excellence, and engineering talent to bring new medical innovations into commercialization.
This is a newly created position dedicated to supporting GIG and portfolio companies with their day-to-day IT Systems and Support needs. Reporting to the Senior Director of Technology Development, the role offers you the opportunity to provide significant input to infrastructure decisions. As our corporate office is in Michigan, the selected candidate will need to be available during normal business hours within Eastern Standard Time.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Work with suppliers to achieve IT based initiatives and integrations (i.e., 3rd party Support Provider, Google, Microsoft, Security, IT hardware/software suppliers, etc.)
- Actively oversee GIG's security posture, technology assets, and end-point management
- Maintain GIG’s IT policies
- Actively monitor data back-up and disaster recovery.
- Support compliance audits such as SOC1/2, HIPAA, etc.
- Own organizational IT training and new initiative rollouts
- Equip team members with appropriate IT solutions keeping company level consistency and security in mind
- Coordinate with 3rd party technical support and client companies/employees by troubleshooting computer/systems related issues in both Mac/Windows environments utilizing a helpdesk and desktop sharing clients
- Working with operational teams at GIG client companies to define and deploy technical infrastructure based on application requirements
What You Will Need:
- A minimum of 5 years IT support/administration experience in a corporate environment
- A broad understanding of available IT infrastructure options for a wide variety of business needs
- Demonstrated experience overseeing a service desk or providing direct user support in Windows + Mac OS environments (*must have - Google Workspace Admin Experience)
- Ability to thrive with limited oversight/supervision and no established playbook
- Capable of independently handling an outage or critical issue without oversight
- Dedicated to modern security frameworks to quickly eliminate threats to systems and users
- Skilled in communicating technical issues comprehensively, patiently, and with kindness to a non-technical audience
- Ability to effectively handle varied demands of multiple start-up companies and their domains
- Security and risk-management minded
- Excellent knowledge of technical management, information analysis, and computer hardware/software systems
- High level of customer service and professionalism
It Is A Plus If You Have This:
- CompTIA, Microsoft, Google Cloud, AWS certifications
- Experience in achieving SOC1/2 compliance for your organization
- Experience in start-up and healthcare IT environments
- Experience with CAD-based document control and financial ERP systems
