About the role and our team
Join our friendly team as a School Cleaner at Anagh Coar Primary School!
Within this role, you will work as part of a team and in conjunction with the Site Manager/Caretaker and other staff to thoroughly clean designated areas of the establishment and ensure a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene.
Working in school, you must be able to interact and communicate with children, parents and other staff in an appropriate manner.
We ask that you are well organised, self-motivated and able to work unsupervised. After a period of instruction you will be expected to use independent judgement and initiative on a daily basis in planning some aspects of your work schedule.
Some of your duties will include:
- Washing, cleaning, sweeping, tidying, vacuum cleaning, polishing and dusting, this includes cleaning window/door glass, brush heads and changing filters and bags
- Being aware and compliant with the health and safety procedures
- Reporting maintenance faults and defects

Salary information
Please note the salary indicated above is for a full time staff member who works 37 hours per week, all year round, including school holidays. If this role is working term time (or term time plus a few weeks), your actual salary will be reduced pro rata to the contracted hours per week and number of weeks worked through the year. You will also receive payment for your annual leave and bank holidays, as leave is not permitted during term time. To ensure you receive a salary each month of the year, your pay is rolled up and divided into 12 equal monthly payments.
Additional information
Please note an enhanced with barring police check is required for this post, which the Department will cover the cost of for you. Please note if you have lived for more than 6 months outside of the UK in the last 5 years, you will be required to obtain a Letter of Good Standing from the appropriate authorities in the relevant locations, please read the guidance about how to obtain this letter.
A relocation package and interview expenses are not available for this role.
