Job description

Lymm Leisure Centre (based at Lymm High School) is looking for passionate, enthusiastic and reliable swimming teachers to join our fantastic teaching team. We deliver high quality swimming lessons following the 'Swim England Learn to Swim framework' to over 650 swimmers each week. In addition, we deliver Primary School swimming lessons to children in the local area. We accept applications from both STA Award and Certificate qualified swimming teachers, as well as Swim England Level 1 or 2. Your primary role will be to teach people of all ages and abilities to develop swimming skills, technique and confidence in the water in a safe environment. Main Duties: To be a positive role model, creating a positive and fun environment in which to motivate and encourage children and adults to participate in swimming. Deliver lessons ensuring adherence to the lesson plans provided and scheme of work Ensure safe provision of all equipment and ensure it is used correctly Identify participants' abilities and encourage them to reach their full potential Demonstrate swimming techniques Correct faults in swimming techniques and identify ways to improve performance Regularly assess each participant's ability and progress, marking off on our assessment sheets weekly. Essential qualities/experience: Punctual, flexible and reliable Able to deal with candidates in a calm and professional manner Well organised Work on own initiative as well as part of a team Skills: Enthusiastic and positive attitude towards swimming Good communicator The ability to inspire confidence and motivate swimmers An understanding of how to differentiate in a teaching session Lymm High School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
