Sustainability Project Manager – 2-year Fixed Term Contract
GSK has announced new ambitious environmental sustainability goals to have a net zero impact on climate and a net positive impact on nature by 2030 across our entire end to end value chain.
The role of the Sustainability Project Manager – sits within the Group Sustainability Team, reporting to the Sustainability Programme Director. This position requires enabling the business to reach its ambitious goals, bringing together internal stakeholders in support of GSK’s targets and commitments. You will be accountable for supporting GSK’s transformation programme governance.
You will work internally with the business units and establish and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure the reporting and assurance of global programme delivery.
There is remote working flexibility in this role, however you would be expected to work at GSK House 2-3 times per week.
In this role you will…
- Collaborate internally with Group Sustainability Function and Business Units to enhance performance.
- Ensure effective sponsorship for the GSK Sustainability delivery project(s) is established with project governance & controls throughout.
- Support highly matrixed teams across multiple business units (Vaccines, GSC, Procurement, Tech) engaging with key subject matter experts to deliver on expectations & scope, including the identification and support of any key areas of risk/resource gaps and delivery gaps to meet end delivery goals.
- Direct activities across the strategy to ensure project progresses to schedule; ensuring adequate core resources are made available to support the project and in line with funding.
- Responsible for regular project reporting, project management, senior stakeholder reporting, risk & issue management, planning & controls & budget reporting.
- Responsible for maintaining a focus on the end point delivery, the milestones to be adhered to, the disciplines of project management, the continued focus on stakeholder management & the projection of a can-do attitude & energy that builds and provides pace & confidence.

Qualifications & Skills:
We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:
- Previous proven project management experience with a minimum of 2 full lifecycle projects.
- Proven ability to support cross-functional project teams across a wide range of technical, functional & business disciplines
- To be able to maintain high professionalism, discipline & performance, not being afraid to address conflict situations & to hold people to account for their deliverables & commitments.
- Experience of managing a project plan of 18–24-month duration.
- Solid track record in setting and managing customer expectations with strong teamwork ethic and interpersonal skills, engaging with, and influencing people across different geographic locations, time zones and cultures.
- Skill in identifying and prioritising workload, looking ahead & anticipating problems
- Demonstrates proper disciplined use of project management techniques & skills to ensure delivery to time, quality & budget.
- To be able to operate independently & have good judgement when to seek guidance & support
Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
The following would be a plus:
- Experience guiding blue-chip companies through sustainability governance and reporting.
- Accredited to PRINCE2 practitioner level, or above. Or equivalent.
