About Us

halow project is a vibrant, growing charity based in Guildford that provides opportunities and support for over 200 young adults with learning disabilities to access social activities, educational programmes and supported living accommodation in south-west Surrey and beyond.

About The Role

Our Supported Living Care Workers are a vital part of how we nurture independence in adults aged 18+ through our highly regarded Supported Living service.

You will be responsible for providing high-quality support to our young adults and helping to plan their day-to-day lives whilst working to achieve their goals. This will involve providing encouragement and support on tasks within their own home including household chores, meal planning, shopping, preparing, and cooking nutritious meals, as well as helping them to plan and access their social life, activities, and engagements within the local community and further afield. Much like the amazing people you’ll be supporting, no two days are ever the same!

Resilience and adaptability are key as this role involves lone working either with an individual or a small group, as well as working as part of the wider Care team. Some personal care and administration of medicine may be required depending on who you are supporting, and you’ll receive full training and support for this to ensure you are fully equipped.

Professional or personal experience of care work is desirable, but we also pride ourselves on a values-based approach and the main skill we are looking for is an ambition to help others. If you are an individual who wants to make a difference to the lives of adults with learning disabilities living in Surrey then we want to hear from you!

All positions are subject to an enhanced DBS check and suitable references.

The nature of this role means that you must be at least 18 years old and have the right to work in the UK. Please note we are currently unable to provide visa sponsorship.
