Supported Housing Officer Ideally located around Peterborough/Kings Lynn area
Hours: Full-time (40 hours)
Salary scale: Up to £30K (DOE) plus mileage £0.45 per mile
Location and Setting: Peterborough/Kings Lynn & Colchester Field Based
Reports to: Housing Director
MYSHON provides management services for specialist supported housing for tenants with mental health issues, learning difficulties and physical disabilities: all within a domestic environment embedded into local communities to promote their independence, understanding that everyone is individual and may need tailored support.
What we do:
We partner with Care Providers. Care partners support Tenants depending on their assessed needs, including helping them to maintain their tenancies, pay their bills, improve their wellbeing, and learn to manage day-to-day activities more independently.
This all provides opportunities for our tenants to integrate and become active members of the local community they live in.
The Role: To ensure a high-quality supported housing management service is provided to all tenants. You will be required to make regular site visits to carryout inspections of the properties and to provide support and advice to tenants.
Key responsibilities:
Agreements and Applications
· You will ensure all tenants within the Southeast region have a current, signed Assured Short-hold Tenancy agreement (AST) which includes services provided at the property.
· Facilitating and submitting tenants Housing Benefit applications online and obtaining a reference number.
· Informing tenants of their responsibility for paying charges at the checking in stage of a tenancy. E.g., Council Tax, personal area utilities, TV licence and personal insurance, ensuring that the tenant receives and signs the rights to rent pack confirming that they accept and understand the terms.
· Ensure details of tenancy changes, rent variations etc are up to date & correct. Monitor rents & tenancies to ensure amendments have been implemented correctly.

Property Visits
· Regularly visit properties and arrange planned and reactive maintenance checks of properties.
· Ensure that follow up visits are undertaken with new tenants within 8 weeks of tenancy commencement.
· Make regular visits to new and existing properties to ensure they are well maintained and fit for purpose.
· Visit schemes and tenants regularly to ensure property is maintained in good condition both externally and internally including organising necessary repairs, gardening, and cleaning in accordance with MYSHON property maintenance procedures.
Administration
· Complete the property visit reports in timely manner.
· Respond sensitively and appropriately to telephone enquiries and pass on messages to the appropriate person where necessary.
· Participate in team meetings, new initiatives, and future changes to improve service deliver.
· Ensure that MYSHON policies & procedures are adhered to.
· Work with the credit control team to take the necessary action to correct deficits.
Person Specification
· Able to manage own workload and effectively plan visits and other arrangements.
· Previous experience of Housing Management/ lettings agency
· Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
· Attention to details and conscientious.
· Understanding and awareness of confidentiality
· PC literate and Numeracy skills
· Excellent time management and organisational
· Previous administrative experience
Experience
- Property Management: 1 year (preferred)
- Customer service: 1 year (preferred)
Car
· Clear UK Driving licence and access to own vehicle with business use insurance.
