Support Workers- Romford/Ilford (£10.25 - £15 per hour) 3 or 4 days a week

We are currently looking to recruit Support Workers to join our Romford/Ilford homes on a permanent basis working 40 hours per week. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who would like to start a new structured career path working within a challenging yet exciting, fast paced position, delivering support to young people, in their own home, who are experiencing social, emotional and behavioural difficulties.

About Heartwood
With more than a decade’s service in the field of social care, Heartwood Care Group have provided an experienced support for children and young people in their local communities delivering a tailored approach to each child and a flexible care for those with emotional and/or behavioural difficulties who are emotionally vulnerable and occasionally challenging.

Key Responsibilities

· Ensure that the rights of the young people are upheld and promoted at all times in accordance with the principles of choice, respect, dignity and privacy.

· Ensure that all issues relating to the safeguarding of vulnerable children and/or adults are reported according to policies and procedures and in accordance with the safeguarding policy.

· Ensure that if there are significant changes to individual service users’ needs these are raised with the Service Manager.

· Promote young people’s involvement in all areas including service delivery, quality assurance and organisational development.

· Communicate effectively (written and verbal) with both internal colleagues and external bodies alike.

The Ideal candidate will be:

· Preferred candidates with previous experience in working with young people who display challenging behaviour.

· Preferred candidates NVQ Qualified (Minimum Level 3) in a social care related subject.

· Able to demonstrate an understanding of social emotional and behavioural difficulties and how these may impact the lives of the young people that we support.

· Able to inspire and encourage young people to engage in all aspects of daily living.

Salary:

· £10.25-£11.00 per hour Day Shift
