Support Worker Waking Nights

Support Worker Waking Nights Wrexham, Wales

MacIntyre
Full Time Wrexham, Wales 10.9 - 11.1 GBP HOURLY Today
Job description

Are you looking for night work? Could you support adults with learning disabilities when they are wakeful during the night? No experience necessary.

You will provide invaluable support to 4 people aged 25-50 who live in their own, bespoke flats.

About the role

The people we support are very active during the day and may want to chat about their activities and what they've been up to before they go to bed. What they really need, is someone who is available when they are wakeful at night and to check at regular intervals to ensure they are comfortable and getting a good night's sleep ready for the next day. You will need to provide support with personal care or medication. Your role will also include cleaning duties to ensure the home is tidy for the morning

There will be another person with you who is on a ‘sleep in’ shift. This means they are there just in case you require extra support in an emergency.

This is an important role to make sure people feel safe at all times and not vulnerable during the night so this is more about providing an emotional reassurance

We are offering a 30-hour position which is for 3-night shifts.

Night shifts include nights, and weekend work. So just let us know what hours work best for you.

Would you like to know what John, Jim and Sarah* want from their new support team. Here's what they had to say.

John is in his twenties, and he wants staff that will support him to be independent and to develop new skills to look after his flat.

Jim wants staff that are patient with him and support his fascination with everything needing to be correct and in full working order.

Sarah has health problems and as a result needs someone who is kind and comforting and who will chat with her when she can’t sleep to help her get settled again.

As you've probably worked out John, Jim and Sarah are full of life and fun to be with, could you support them to lead lives that make sense to them?

You will be joining a team that includes a number of experienced staff from MacIntyre.
