Job Summary
We’re hiring for a Support Worker at Elm Tree Farm Shop
We have an exciting new opportunity as a Farm Shop Support Worker. Brandon Trust\'s Support Workers at Elm Tree Farm support people with a learning disability, autism, or both, to live life in the way they choose, empowering them to thrive and realise their ambitions.
This inspiring and interesting role combines the opportunity to utilise and develop your retail experience with empowering people with a learning disability to reach their goal of achieving paid employment. In return we offer a full induction, support and training and on-going career development.
We have a part-time position available, covering 22.5 hours - 30 hours a week on a rota basis, which may include Saturdays.

Your skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Retail experience is required.
Enthusiastic about motivating and supporting staff and people with learning disabilities.
Reliable and punctual.
Approachable, upbeat, patient and calm.
An attitude towards others based on respect, dignity and equality.
Organised and tidy.
Supportive of innovative ideas that benefit the shop.
Good IT skills.
Your responsibilities:
Support people with learning disabilities to achieve their desired outcomes.
Attend supervisions, complete identified training.
Deliver excellent customer service.
To help plan and facilitate activities and events.
Ensure the shop is kept clean and tidy and well organised.
Ensure health & safety procedures are followed at all times.
Inspect facilities and equipment for signs or disrepair, and report maintenance works needed as required.
Maintain records and work in accordance with the key policies and procedures of Brandon.
Be willing to be flexible and work weekend shifts according to the needs of the Farm Shop.
To empower the people we support to live the lives they want to lead.
To develop daily living skills.
Support the people we support to access their communities for socialisation, employment, training or friendships.
To contribute to, develop and implement the individuals care plans.
To communicate effectively and professionally with people we support, their family members, and external professionals.

About the role
Brandon exists to enable children, young people and adults with a learning disability, autism, or both, to live life in the way they choose. We provide high-quality, individualised support to around 1,600 people and have a staff team of over 2,000. Operating across southern England and London, support is provided by a widely dispersed workforce, including public spaces and the homes of the people we support.
