Job description
We are looking for a Band 2 caring support worker to support our established nursing team on the Alan Bray Unit, Intensive care and high dependency unit. Our patient population require high levels of monitoring and ventilation. This is a unit that cares for patients undergoing surgery for complex joint reconstruction, spinal correction, and bone tumour surgery alongside our paediatric unit which caters for paediatric undergoing complex scoliosis surgery. The successfully candidate will be required to work across the two units.
You will assist in the provision of care to patients, supporting and being supervised by a registered nurse, assisting with hygiene needs of patients and turning patients. Additional duties include topping up supplies/ stores, filing notes, and keeping the areas clean and tidy. You must be a caring professional who can demonstrate kindness and compassion whilst delivering excellent care in this busy environment.
You must be flexible, be a natural team player, have sound communication skills and be able to establish good working relationships with members of the multi-disciplinary team. Enthusiasm and flexibility are essential.

Previous NHS experience is desirable for this role, either as a care assistant/support worker along with education to GCSE level. Disclosure and barring service checks are essential.
