Experienced Support Worker required for an established Semi-Independent Living provision for 16–18-year-olds in Hornsey, North London.
Job Specification
- Ability to work independently (lone working).
- Ability to work daytimes, wake nights and weekends.
- Contribute towards the provision of a secure, stable, supportive environment for young people which encourages them to make the transition from living in care to living independently.
- Complete administrative tasks such as reports, maintaining records and ensuring they are available when required.
- To conduct one to one sessions as part of the young persons needs led care plans.
- Act as a good role model for young people in the house and offer good advice, guidance and assistance when needed.
- To work in a multi-agency environment through liaising with health, education, police and children's services.
- Ensure smooth running of the provision through consolidating and following relevant policies and procedures.
- Experience of working with young people in a care setting or youth provision.
- Relevant educational background and being motivated to learn and continuously improve knowledge base.
- Good time management and organisational skills.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Effective Team Working skills.
- Good IT skills.
- Willingness to take part in training and development.
As this position will involve working closely with vulnerable young people, successful candidates will require an Enhanced DBS.
