Rates of pay: £11.22 per hour. Earn up to £28,129.59. 10% enhancement for working overtime. A generous sick pay scheme and paid training with financial bonuses for completion of awards and diplomas.
Job Summary:
This vacancy is within a small team who provide support 24/7 to a woman in her mid-50's. 'Emma' has LD, ASD and a mental health condition which presents as cyclical episodes with increased anxiety. She often has 1:1 support throughout day-time hours at home, day programme and in the community.
'Emma' enjoys going out for coffee, people watching, colouring, magazines, 50-piece puzzles, pampering sessions, cooking, shopping, crafts, gardening, cinema, seaside and visiting family. She needs a lot of sensory stimulation and will enjoy the travelling circus, pantomime performances, and other joint activities.
'Emma' is looking for a supportive staff team that understands her ASD and mental health needs. A staff team that are kind to her and understanding to her needs. She needs a team who will encourage her to say hello and goodbye when in shops and restaurants and who can provide consistency, continuity, and predictability - to minimise anxiety.
A degree of personal care support will be provided, such as prompting with a morning and evening bubble bath, supervision with brushing teeth and prompting to use the toilet. She also requires assistance to visit medical appointments, arrange prescriptions, administering medication and assistance to ensure a balanced nutritious diet.
Shift Patterns:
This position will include working some weekends and bank holidays. Shift times can be flexible and could look like 7am - 9:30am/ 9am - 3:30pm/ 3pm - 10pm/ 9:30pm - 8am/ 7am - 3:30pm/ 1pm - 10pm. This will be discussed with you during the interview process, and you will be matched to person we support in line with hours and patterns of shifts you are able to work.
