The role of a support worker can be wide and varied. Our focus is to enable vulnerable adults to live the life they choose. Tasks can include enabling people to live independently in their own homes, develop their life skills, meet their personal care needs, or access the community for social activities. Support workers work creatively and flexibly to meet the needs of the people we support, carrying out tasks with compassion and thought.

We have a person-centred approach at Citizenship First and expect support workers to work alongside and communicate with the people they support in a way that reflects our values.

We’re looking for enthusiastic applicants who:

- Are sensitive to peoples differing emotional needs within different situations.

- Have a fully flexible approach, you will be expected to work on a rota system including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.

- This role may include regular sleep-in shifts for which an extra payment is made (This means sleeping over at the residence, with the possibility you might have to wake up to provide care in the night.)

- Can work as part of a team and to learn from the people around you.

- Have the confidence to work independently.

- Have good written and verbal communication skills.

- Can follow a written support plan and to use your own initiative.

- Are committed to engaging in training, learning and development.

- Have the right to work in the UK. We are unable to offer sponsorship.
