About the Support Worker role
At Bramley Health were currently looking to hire an amazing Support Worker for our Napier Lodge Nursing Home.
Having previous experience is an advantage but do not fear if you're new to this role. If you're happy to complete all mandatory training and show heart we still want to hear from you!
In this vital role you will be providing support to vulnerable adults who have a variation of mental health diagnosis. Behaviours can at times be challenging due to their possible inappropriate nature and/or physical aggression.
Below are a few of responsibilities that you'll carry out as a Support Worker:
- Provide a full range of rehabilitation support and care, tailored to each service user.
- You will be required to assess and plan, facilitating and evaluating the service users care programme and reviews, so admin tasks will be involved in this role.
- Assessment of risks which need to be managed and reduced to the best of your abilities.
- Its important that we support the service users to develop and maintain friendships along with others (including relatives).
- Monitoring of health and behaviour of service users. Making sure to report any changes to the shift co-ordinator or the service manager.
- Support the service users in the undertaking of household tasks as appropriate to the individual.
- Supervise and administer medication in accordance with service policy.

- Professionalism: As much as everything above is important, there will be times where you need to be able to stay calm, show self-control and authority under pressure. You will be dealing with Service Users that occasionally can become very challenging. The main thing to keep in mind is to treat our service users the way you would want to be treated.
- Caring and willingness to take on issues, for example sometimes Service Users will need your help with cleanliness issues and personal care.
- Being a supportive team player! In our team were all about supporting each other, and to be there to give back-up in tight knit working groups.
