Job description

Are you passionate about supporting teenagers and young adults with autism and learning disabilities? Do you want to work in an organisation rated 'Outstanding' by the CQC?
We are currently recruiting for full-time Behaviour Support Workers to work on established home and community-based programmes across London. You will work as part of a team supporting service users with primary diagnoses of autism and learning disabilities across London with a focus on life skills and community participation. Beam ABA Services support individuals with complex behavioural needs who display behaviour that challenges.

We offer globally-recognised, industry-accredited training and support to give you the confidence and skills necessary to help make a significant positive difference to the lives of young people. You will be fully supervised and should be available to work some evenings and weekends. We require all Beam staff to adhere to our Code of Conduct.
Successful candidates will be trained to work with a number of service users with varying needs and should be able to offer some flexibility to provide cover for staff sickness and annual leave. You will be working as part of a team and should be available to work evenings and weekends, though daytime work is also available.
Beam ABA Services also offer the globally-recognised, industry-accredited Registered Behaviour Technician (RBT) training course. You will be supervised by a qualified Behaviour Analyst. We require all Beam staff to adhere to our Code of Conduct.

Requirements
Duties

  • To assist in the design and implementation of person centred programs utilising Applied Behaviour Analysis and Positive Behaviour Support best practice
  • To monitor and take accurate data daily per service users targets
  • To assist service user with self-help skills including personal care and hygiene needs (e.g., toileting, nappy changing, feeding, bathing, nail cutting, and medication)
  • To ensure all programme materials are organised and accessible
  • To model best practice and professionalism at all times
  • Enable service user to improve self-management techniques
  • To attend mandatory trainings, team meetings and self-directed e-learning modules
  • To promote safeguarding and wellbeing for service user to the highest standard
  • To implement restrictive techniques per service users positive handling plan as required
  • Flexibility to support service user during evenings and weekends
  • Other duties as required by your manager

Required qualifications and skills

  • Five GCSE's or equivalent
  • Good spoken and written English language skills
  • Good communication skills, capacity to respond in a timely fashion to calls, emails and messages.

Preferred qualifications

  • Undergraduate Degree in Psychology, Counselling, Social Work or related field of work.
  • 1 year of applied experience working with individuals with special needs.
  • Experience utilising the principles and methodology of ABA.
  • Experience of managing challenging behaviour.
  • Full, clean driving license.

  • Full-time positions are available, paid at an hourly rate of £11.05-£14 depending on qualifications and experience, Immediate salary for full-time staff from £22,425 - £25,350 based on 35 hour working week - overtime hours available. Full training provided.
