About the Role:

Reporting to the Service Desk Manager, you will be working on our helpdesk, responsible for the logging, diagnosis and resolution of client’s hardware and software technical issues.

You will also be a member of our field service team who are responsible for the onsite repair of hardware manufactured by VeryPC and support of our Managed Service customers, with regular travel to our client’s sites both locally and nationwide, including overnight stays when needed.

Your day-to-day duties will be varied, and the role requires someone who is not only technically capable but also a great communicator, well organised, self-motivated, and committed to providing the best service possible.

The role is a hybrid arrangement where you will work primarily from home, attending our offices in Hillsborough and customer sites as required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Call Handling, case logging for faults with VeryPC Hardware and service customer IT Issues.
  • Onsite Warranty Repairs for VeryPC manufactured hardware (component replacement)
  • Onsite troubleshooting of IT issues for VeryPC Support Customers.
  • Assist with onsite installation of desktops, servers, and other computer related equipment
  • Liaise with external support providers when necessary.
  • Write and maintain internal documentation and knowledgebase articles.
  • General duties as appropriate to the role

The Candidate

  • Ideally located within 1 hour of Sheffield, South Yorkshire
  • Full Clean UK Driving License with own vehicle and Class 1 Business insurance
  • Excellent telephone manner, good interpersonal and communications skills.
  • The ability to work under pressure and to deadlines whilst maintaining exceptional customer service.
  • Minimum of 2 Years’ experience working in a 1st line technical role providing IT support.

Skills / Experience Required

  • Excellent understanding of desktop and laptop hardware
  • Excellent skills diagnosing and resolving both hardware and software faults.
  • Experience supporting users with Windows 10/11 and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience managing users in Active Directory, Azure AD, Office 365 / Exchange Online.
  • Setup of Desktop’s, Laptop’s, Network Printers and Scanners.
